Dear PocketReperion™ user,

Thank you for your interest.

We are building a live GPS community for and by the people... thank you for joining in this early stage. We depend on your input and ideas to create the most valuable personal GPS tool. We hope to develop with you many useful and enjoyable applications of mobile GPS technology.

PocketReperion in its most basic form must stay free. That is why we need a lot of users and a lot of your input to make the best and useful GPS tool next to navigation…

PocketReperion is a multipurpose GPS application, the most important function being:

“tracking and tracing in real-time with audio/picture/video blogging”

You can use PocketReperion to send out your GPS location to our server, which in it’s turn will present your location, track, pictures and audio via a web interface. People can use this interface to track your position, you can send and receive text and audio messages as well.

Of course, we are developing and presenting new functions every few months, we introduced “buddy proximity alerting” “geo-fencing” “send messages to people in radius of xx miles” and many more fun and useful options.

See it like this, if you see a speed-camera being setup along the road, you can soon enter and broadcast that information to all interested PocketReperion users in a certain radius of that event.  We will introduce a “karma” system that let’s other users reward you for the correctness of that information.

If you feel you want to contribute in any way, please go to the forum : http://http://geocool.reperion.com/web/forums

If you would like to have your account visible only to yourself and people you choose to give your account details to, we ask you for any kind of donation via the website donation button. Don’t forget to include your account details when doing so.

Thanks again for joining this community,  please read the following pages carefully !

The PocketReperion Team.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ON NEXT PAGE

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

PocketReperion will work on most PocketPC2003(SE) and WM2005 devices.

New versions for more devices are coming up. Please tell us exactly your model when posting on the forums helpdesk.

http://www.reperion.com/newclient

Share this with your friends, direct them to http://geocool.reperion.com/Web/user/CreateUser.aspx? to also obtain a working account. The buddy tracking options are amazing ! Locate your friends and have course and distance plotted for you. See where they are on the map or in Google Earth in realtime.

Cab files are easy to install. Just keep the "open this file after download" checked when downloading the *.cab files from a mobile device browser.

If, however,  you want to install the *.cab file from your PC to your PocketPC, use the explorer and copy the *.cab file to any location on your PocketPC and open it.

It will install, and on some devices, the *.cab file is automatically deleted after install. You can make the *.cab file read-only before installing, to prevent the installation *.cab file from disappearing, so you can send it to others or re-use.

Remember, all it takes to invite someone to also use PocketReperion is to send them the *.cab installation file (per Bluetooth or email or infrared) and have them signup to http://geocool.reperion.com/Web/user/CreateUser.aspx? to obtain a free account.

For configuration options see the next page

Start PocketReperion, you will be presented with a splash screen first, the user interface will be shown to you. Here’s how to configure the options :

·         press setup – config

·         select tracker1.reperion.com

·         enter your call (in the email you just got)

·         enter your pwd (also in the email you just got)

·         select COMPORT (if you don’t know, you should download visualGPSce to find out about it…)

·         select BAUDRAUTE (same story)

·         press OK

·         press setup again, now select SAVE

·         press and hold mph/alt to change to metric

·         press rate to change the rate at which the PocketPC will try and upload your position to our servers

·         press setup clear track to clear the track of today on the server. Also used to clear corrupt tracks.

·         press setup – Min DX to set the minimal amount of distance that your position should have changed before an update to the server will be sent.

·         press setup – log to NOT USE REALTIME reporting, but to save your tracks locally on your PocketPC, so you can transfer them to our server when you are at home or somewhere with an internet connection.

·         The MAPS OFF picture (the angels)  in your PocketPC can be personalized, create a 148x148 pixel image and call it : MapsOff.gif and put in your MyDocuments folder on your PPC.

·         The very first time you have PocketReperion running, with a GPS with a "fix", a working internet connection your account information entered correctly, set your "DX" threshold to "ANY". This will make PocketReperion send an update to the server, regardless of the fact that you are NOT moving enough to break your MinDX threshold you setup. This is really handy for testing, but might not be useful to people in normal day to day operations.

Please try the free Google Earth client, and see the stunning live tracking in action via Google Earth. http://earth.google.com

When you have installed Google Earth, you need to enter a "network link" similar to http://tracker1.reperion.com/images/yourusername.kml under ADD NETWORK LINK
